Rik and his technician who worked on my car were incredibly helpful, caring and professional. I first went to the other dealership where I bought my car to get it repaired. A short time after I bought the car, I noticed that the passenger rear door on the right side made a popping noise & soon after there started an ongoing rattle that was annoying everyone to no end. After waiting over 4 hrs assuming the car was fixed, it wasn't. And no one came to see me even one time in 4 hours to talk to me. I went to ask someone. When I asked what the problem was I couldn't get a straight answer. The info kept changing and was even contradictory. Then they told me to come back the next day and it would be done. When I p/u the car the next day, I noticed they did not fix the door stop to factory standards and according to warranty. Additionally, the rattling continued a day later. I brought the car back. The car sat in their garage for an entire week. They did nothing. Then when I called them the day before I picked up the car, the service lady said that they couldn't fix the door back to factory standards. They also said they didn't know where the noise was coming from. I had even recorded a video of the noise and sent it to them and they wouldn't listen to it. The shop supervisor never even contacted me. He left it all of to the service provider who seemed very uncomfortable about the way things were being handled. She was always nice and seemed to want to get the repair done correctly. But it seemed as if her hands were tied bc she was always very careful by how she worded things, even though she had a hard time answering my questions, would appear fidgety and forget what she would tell me. It made me sad to see someone who really wanted to do her job and fix the problem right and yet whose integrity seemed only compromised. I then decided to bring my car to Larry H. Miller. They immediately had a technician drive with me and he quickly honed in on where the rattling was coming from. It was the rear passenger back seat. Then he looked at the door and saw that it was not done according to factory standards. They ordered the correct parts. Although they ran into a little bit of a problem, the lip of a bracket had broken off where the door stop was fastened into w/a factory screw and bolt inside the frame/door jam, I'm not sure what to call it, they managed to secure it using something else but without compromising the door's security, its looks or the parts with unnecessary wear and tear like rust. And so far so good no rattle!! Rik came in twice to explain to me everything that was going on, what exactly the problem was, and what they would do to fix it and in simple words I could understand. Nothing too technical. And if that didn't work he said, then they would have a plan B, and send it to a body shop. It only took about two hours to fix. Rik even apologized for it taking so long. And yet I didn't see it that way at all. He even had the car washed and he showed me the work that was done and a couple of odd things about the seat's leather just as fyi. Rik and his technician cared about doing what was right not just because the problem was under warranty or that it was a $50,000 vehicle and barely 2 years old with less than 36,000 miles on it (which all the more reason a repair should be done right!) but because I am a customer who trusted their company enough to buy one of their vehicles, an expensive one that I waited 16 years to buy, and trusted them to do the job right. They treated me with care and respect bc I'm a person and a customer and not bc I drive an expensive car. I'm not rich by any means but I do okay bc I work hard and save money when and where I can. Ultimately, they just wanted to do the right thing on all counts. I have tremendous respect and appreciation for that. Thanks, Rik and valued team! The price quoted on the phone was less than the final charges. Also, When l went to pick up my vehicle no one was helping me. I stood there for 10 minutes without any assistance on where to go to pay my bill and reclaim my vehicle.
