Sean was great. He kept us informed on the status of our repairs. He also helped us change the battery in our remote when I happened to mention that the battery was getting low and difficult to change. 5 stars customer service too!

I informed Austin when I called in about the Equinox having issues again that I was pretty sure it was the starter. I had told Terry in the service dept. the same thing prior to Terry and myself telling Austin that when I had the car towed in for the repairs.
I informed both Terry & Austin I didn't know what type of starter they had installed before but I didn't want another one of that variety and that I wanted an new OEM unit even if that meant I was going to have to pay for the difference on the starters cost. I additionally had told either Terry or Austin that we needed to go ahead and check the car again for the oil consumption test while it was in there.
I told Austin I had a video of what the car was sounding like when it was being started for several (days) before it completely gave out. I told him I'd send it to his email address that he supplied.
Austin called a day or so after it was towed in and said it was all good and ready to be picked up, that it was just the battery that was severely drained and they had just finished doing a charge and it was all good. I asked him if he had recieved the video I sent and he said no??? I told him I'd resend it (and did so cc'ing myself this time) & they'd better look at the starter issue again because if the car battery was low it wouldn't have started for those multiple days before while the starter was making the grinding & clicking noises. I again reminded him I wanted a NEW starter and not a rebuilt aftermarket one and that I was willing to pay the cost difference.
He said he'd have the starter checked again and get back with me. I reminded him also about the oil consumption test. It hasn't been preformed though the car was ready for pickup???
About three days later, I rec'd. a text from Austin saying that it was all done and ready to go. I asked him via text if it was the starter and he said yes. There was no communication about what starter went in the car, why the tech. didn't find the starter was bad in the 1st. diagnostics preformed and why it took 6 days + to have simple starter issues checked and remedied. I feel after we've been put through the hassle of having the starter replaced now twice, just a few months ago and then having the issue happen again (luckily it happened to me not my wife somewhere out in that freezing weather)
To be quite frank... I'm not happy that the cars using oil when a supposed new factory rebuilt engine was installed and it's using oil excessively. More than a qt. every 1k miles.... and it's not being taken seriously by your service dept. This issue should have been remedied after the 2nd time it showed that kind of oil consumption.
When I first brought it in, and told them about the oil issue, they tried saying it was normal... I deal with mechanical repairs alot and have 9 vehicles I and an employee of mine do most of the repair / maint. on. A qt. Every 1k Mike's on a new engine is not normal.
They said they'd do an oil consumption test on it. I didn't know they were wanting us to come in every 1k miles to have it checked. Austin didn't tell me nor my wife about that or the protocol were were supposedly given. We were not given any paperwork for the recording of the oil consumption. The firm wasn't in the glove box or elsewhere in the car either??? I wasn't told anything about it so I thought they were deciding on how best to handle it was why they didn't tell me anything about the issue or the findings they came up with. After a month or so I called Austin due to the lack of communication to ask him what was up with the decision they had made on the oil use and he said oh, we "started the oil consumption test" and I instructed your wife about it. My wife wasn't told anything about it nor given the paperwork that we were supposedly supposed to bring back on every 1k intervals. When we brought it back after the initial service call for it, it had lost just over 2 qts. That's not recorded on the new paperwork.
All I know is that there's been enough of the checking to see that the consumption is consistent. What is going to be done about it. I planned on keeping this car for quite awhile. The last one we bought at your place was a 2006 Malibu. We bought it and still have it and gicen it to our youngest son who's continuing to drive it while he and his wife are finishing up their nursing degrees in Florida. We had alot of serious troubles with it as well from the entire elect. steering system being replaced due to loss of steering upon acceleration to other issues.
I don't want a used 2014 car that I paid top dollar for, using oil at that rate within 6 months of the new engine being put in. Oil consumption when it starts usually gets worse faster than slower. I also have brought the car in just a few days after purchasing it, due to the front wheel losing air. I have been adding air to that tire every week or two since we bought it. I have asked them to look at it multiple times and they keep telling me there's no leak??? Please tell me why I'm having to add air every week or two then and why your service dept. can't fix a simple slow leak in a tire?
Honestly, I know I'm not an important customer. I'm not buying expensive vehicles from you. I bought my last three personal vehicles from you because my son Jeff Fender was your head IT guy for 8 or so years. I wanted to buy from you guys because I wanted to support his employer. My brother bought an new Equinox from you guys as well and it went in for service on something completely unrelated to what they did without conferring with him and billed him for over $2000. He's not coming back to your business which is a shame.
I had taken one of my older vans in to your service dept. I paid an additional $600.00 more than a local business who had a year warranty to have the AC compressor replaced there because you offered a 2 year warranty on the compressor. It must have went out the end of the first year during the winter because the next spring, it was bad.
Unfortunatelyy I had a changeover of book keeper at that time and my paperwork was in a state of disarray as far as keeping the warratied repairs and parts log we normally keep on the vehicles. We couldn't find any receipt for the compressor replacement.
Called your service dept. and as you might have guessed after all I've told you, your service dept. had no record of it even being in your shop!
To be honest, I feel conflicted about what to do at this point. We are feeling like we need to switch out of this Equinox but I know since we paid top dollar and bought the best warranty (thank God) that we're upside down on it. If we we're to buy another car there I feel like we'd just be receiving / continuing the somewhat bad service that we've been getting for a while.
I hate to complain but the lack of communication and indifference about issues that are very important to me, the safety of my wife needing to have a dependable vehicle, and the concerns I have about the longevity of the vehicles engine is troubling to me at the very least.
You asked for comments... Well here they are. Now the balls in your court. What're you going to do to address my issues?
Sincerely yours,
Doug Fender

The customer service was great. However within 24 hours of repairs my vehicle broke down and had to be towed back to the dealership. They allegedly fixed my power steering but that is what went out and is leaking on the parking lot
