I originally spoke with Ross and we agreed to bring in my car on 1/17 right at 7AM (I start work at 7AM). Ross also said I would be able to get a ride to work, as I work less than 4 miles from the dealership. Ross was very helpful.
When I arrived to drop my car off for service. Victor was the representative that was available. I told him my name and that I was there to drop my car off for the safety recall on my airbags & that I needed a ride to work. He immediately responds with “our systems are down, no idea when they’ll be up. I can take your car but I don’t know when it will be worked on and we can’t give you a ride.” I understand that some things are not in our control, but there are better ways of handling this type of situation. He continued on saying that they use Lyft for rides and he can’t request a Lyft if the system is down. I then said that I was told I’d be given alternate transportation while my car was being serviced per the letter I received from FORD. Again with “our systems are down, I can’t order a Lyft.” At this point I’m frustrated and I make it a point to say that Lyft is a newer company and I’m pretty certain that before the days of Lyft they would have one of the service techs grab a loner vehicle and give me a ride. He said he can’t do that and then said if I wanted my car worked on that I could get in line but he can’t order me a Lyft. I get my car and get in line, I get back out after pulling up prepared to order my own darn Lyft. By this point it seems that Victor asked another man (I wish I would’ve gotten that mans name because he was actually helpful and resolved the situation instantly without hesitation! THAT man deserves recognition.) That man asked one of the guys to give me a ride and they pulled up in a loner and gave me a ride to work.
Like I stated earlier, I do understand that some situations are out of our control, but there are better ways of dealing with customers. Victor May have been having a bad morning or maybe he needs to brush up on his customer service skills. I don’t need a phone call. I just needed to express my frustrations with Victor.
