From the beginning we have had trouble with the Lincoln side of the dealership. Both sales and service were very disappointing. Apparently, sales people can’t even put you in the vehicle type and color you want even though there were several vehicles in Texas and other states. We ended up driving to Grapevine to get our vehicle.
We always have radar detectors and I installed a radar detector in our Aviator. I accidentally shorted a wire which should have been a quick fuse change out. Absolutely my fault and don’t deny that at all; however, I was a very frustrated when I couldn’t find a blown fuse, even more frustrated when the car would not start and most things in the car were inoperable. We had no choice but to call a tow truck for a brand new vehicle that we had for less than a week. The service department was equally as disappointing. I realize that everyone at the dealership is trying to be on their best behavior. I, like every other customer, do not like being lied to. If you say you are going to do something then do it. If you say you are going to call then call. I was VP of operations before I retired and I can honestly say that you cannot pretend to be the customer’s best friend, tell them what you know they want to hear and then go do whatever you were going to do any way. It leaves the customer feeling like they don’t matter. Number one, if you are a seasoned employee, you know what they want to hear, but if you can’t do it don’t say you can or will. Honesty always goes further than pulling wool. It is obvious the service department is greatly under staffed. I’m not sure using Honda service employees to work on Lincolns is appropriate, but for minor stuff I guess I understand. Just my personal opinion, but I would not let a brand new customer wait for five and a half days for a simple job. I would work them in and if it got to be too time consuming then let them know and work them in with the bigger projects. Despite having a warranty and buying an extending warranty which covers electrical problems we still got an 800 dollar bill. I still feel like this was more of a car problem than me accidentally grounding a hot wire . As I stated before it should have been a simple fuse panel fix.
It’s not my company, so it is not my call. What is within my power is to never set foot on your property again, drive to Grapevine for service and tell everyone I know, a lot of people by the way, how horrible our experience was. The sales department needs work and the service department needs even more in my opinion. The way the Lincoln side of things are run right now, I can’t imagine that it will ever get any bigger. There is a lot more to a company than just being a really nice person. You actually have to produce results. We’re just very disappointed in the dealership over all.

She immediately called me back after I left a phone message... she was honest about her assessment regarding making an appointment on the service of my car with Jack O Diamonds... was unsure if it was the car battery or computer security system??? Some friends brought my car in for me and Peighton was SPOT ON in getting the car problems assessed and even better was done within the hour which I was more than GRATEFUL for ... My car was returned by to me by 12 noon and I never imagined it was going to be that soon ... She was pleasant and compassionate over the phone and appreciate so much these traits in another person especially when dealing in customer service ...
