Asked for a Lyft back to work and he lied and said they don’t offer that service especially for an oil change service. I was also told walk in service was not acceptable and that I would have to make an appointment. My truck jerks and the attendant wouldn’t look to see what it could possibly be.

After my initial terrible experience with “ Alicia” in service and the service manager which was just as Bad , I had seriously given up on Marvin K Brown all together, and although I live in south San Diego , was contemplating seeking service anywhere other than Marvin K Brown , because I was made to feel as if I was begging for service vs being made to feel like a valued customer. Those thoughts were completely reversed with top notch service and attention starting with the Shop foreman “Rob” followed by “Stephanie” “Brook” “ and icing on the cake was Luis , the undivided attention , and care they showed is unmatched , if only the rest of the staff followed in their foot steps , Marvin K Brown would be a much better welcoming place ! Rob , Stephanie , Brook, and Luis are a true asset to Marvin K Brown

I would like to comment that I was surprised at the very high cost for the oil change this year. The price was $164.96, and that was only after a $25 coupon was applied. This was a simple oil change only. No other service work was performed. Last year the same job cost 92.63. This seems like an unreasonable increase. I was particularly puzzled by an additional $24.95 charged on my bill for “BG MOA ENGINE OIL ENHANCEMENT.” What was that for? I wasn’t charged for that last year.
I’m also surprised at some of the increases for the parts: more than a 100% increase in the price for the motor oil, more than a doubling of the price for the seal, and almost a tripling of the price for the filter kit. The only price that didn’t increase was the charge for disposing the used oil. I understand we’ve had higher inflation the last year, but current annual rate of inflation is 7%, not 100 or 200%.
So I’m fine with Alycia Martin’s service, but I’m not happy with Marvin K. Brown’s pricing for a simple oil change.
