I recently purchased a 2024 Honda Odyssey Sport from Norm Reeves Honda Vista, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the entire experience. From the moment I walked in, Gustavo, my sales representative, made me feel welcome and comfortable. He initiated a friendly conversation and left a fantastic first impression. Gustavo was knowledgeable, patient, and made sure I had all the information I needed to make an informed decision. The sales managers, Mark Thomas and Mark Morrow, were equally outstanding. Phillip Rosales provided a rental for trauma and inconvenience. Trauma, meaning, very uneasy driving with a wrench and error on dashboard nonstop, not knowing if continued driving is exacerbating issues. However, I don't like surprises. Meaning, I found out that the maintenance protection only includes oil changes. I was never told that during financing. I NEVER would have added maintenance had I known this. It is not worth the cost and significantly increased amount financed. It should be required that the finance team explain exactly what is included in maintenance protection. That was not done when I financed BOTH of my vehicles. BOTH TIMES, I THOUGHT MAINTENANCE INCLUDE VEHICLE MAINTENANCE, NOT JUST OIL CHANGES. SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED AMOUNT FINANCED. I thought maintenance included vehicle maintenance, not restricted only to oil changes. ADDITIONALLY, certified pre-owned vehicles cost more because of dealership protections on car-condition versus used vehicles. For the second vehicle I purchased, 2018 Civic, I was assured that this car is certified and everything checked out. Only $24,995 miles on odometer. I purchased this Civic on June 15, 2024. 90 days later, I have maintenance repairs of almost $900. Issues that should have been part of certifying the vehicle. And for a vehicle with only 24,995 miles, there should not be any repairs. To add context, I live in Otay Ranch and work in Los HELLGELES. Much driving. About 5,000 miles. The repairs done this past weekend are repairs that should have been inspected/addressed before sale versus number of miles. I don't expect repair issues after only 90 days. I feel like Norm Reeves false-advertised and did not live up to certified pre-owned vehicles. ALL this said, I request Norm Reeves' guidelines in writing on what constitutes certified. What is inspected? What is not included in certifying vehicles. What is dealership promising when advertised as certified pre-owned vehicles? Dealership's responsibilities for certified pre-owned vehicles. Now on paranoid in the sense of paying almost $900 after only 90 days, what is on horizon? I can't even say down the road because 90 days from date of purchase does not constitute down the road. So it's clear to customers, Norm Reeves needs to put in writing it's certified pre-owned policies for vehicles. I'd rather pay for later-year car than almost $900 for a car that is already 6 years old. Meaning, I'd prefer invest in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 vehicle than repairs in 90 days. I don't trust this 2018 Civic anymore and on edge. This was especially challenging driving twice, Friday, drop-off/Sunday, pick-up to Norm Reeves -- 1 hour and 10 minutes each way -- after getting both covid and flu shots on Friday afternoon.
