In the 25 years I have been taking my cars to your shop this was the first time I was made to feel pressured and uncomfortable.
I came for my appointment after working all night as I normally do. I needed an oil change and my license plates installed on the car. The check in person suggested more services than the oil change. I declined then they tried to make me change my mind by repeatedly telling me what Toyota recommended— I get that but I had left my wallet at home and only had cash—not enough for the services she was recommending- I didn’t go into details just said I’m here for an oil change and the technician says to me- I’m going to make a notation that you are refusing the recommended toyota service— very loudly.
When the car was finished- the technician came over to review and said that they could only install one license plate that I needed a bracket for the other one and that it was probably in the back but because you have too much stuff in the back we couldn’t get to it. I said that I didn’t get a bracket when I purchased the car from Price- she proceeded to tell me that yes I did. I insisted that there were no spare license plate rims or brackets in the back— again she insisted that there was and that it’s hidden under the spare tire— I asked if there was one I could purchase so that I don’t have to try to make another trip over from NJ and she said no but if I find this bracket that I could just drive in without an appointment and price would install it.
When I got home to NJ, I checked the back— underneath the spare tire and in the other places she said this bracket may have been hidden and no bracket—-
I don’t even understand why I had to go through all of that. I have never before felt like I was badly treated at Price before. I have always found the service people to be kind and helpful. I have recommended Price service to many other RNs that I work with and they have moved over to your service center. This has truly been a disappointing experience.
