Brought Vehicle in for its Scheduled Service, Vehicle Has 14,634 Miles, Supposedly these new Vehicles only get Oil Changes Every 10,000 Miles Now. But when they had Me sign the paperwork for Service it said on the Paperwork .. Customer Authorizes Toyota Care 15,000 Mile Synthetic Oil Maintenance Service then below that is says (No Oil Change) ... If it’s truly only every 10,000 Miles then it would be at 10,000 Miles And 20,000 Miles why mention anything about 15,000 Mile Synthetic Oil Maintenance Service .... Something sketchy is going on doesn’t make sense and is misleading. On 10-02-19 The Vehicle was brought in for its first service with 4,140 Miles ..... Was told that they weren’t going to do it’s first Oil Change until it gets to 10,000 Miles but on the Service History is says Toyota Care 5K Synthetic ...... So they said verbally it wasn’t going to get its first change until 10,000 Miles but then on the paperwork it says otherwise. Then On 04-25-20 At 8,277 Miles it had Toyota Care 10K Synthetic ....... Between what’s been told verbally and what’s on the Service Paperwork it’s all completely different and when I got the Vehicle back today I checked the Oil and it definitely should of been changed. Smells Burnt and Gasoline Odor and also this Engine sounds like trash for the first 20 Minutes sounds like someone dropped a bucket of bolts into the Oil Pan rattles and clunks sounds like rod knock, I Think 10,000 Mile Oil Changes are a joke and they should be done every 5,000. When I came home and seen the Viscosity of this Oil I could tell right away it wasn’t checked, or it was checked but someone didn’t care, or it was checked but whoever checked it must not know anything about what Oil should be like, I’m a mechanic/service tech Myself and also have graduated from Heavy Duty Diesels Courses/Programs, Originally started out with Small Engine Repairs, I’ve been through em small and big and no doubt in My mind that the Oil in this should have been changed, The Lower End on this Engine has sounded like rocks bouncing around started at less then 10,000 Miles, Does These Engines/ Vehicles come with break in Oil from the Dealership? If so then they should definitely be changed far sooner then 10,000 Miles. Yes I’ve read the manual but I feel like Toyota shouldn’t assume all Vehicles will make it to 10,000 Miles Before Oil Changes. They don’t know what conditions the Vehicles are put through or what Operation/Operator Behaviors it’s being put through, This Vehicle in particular was being run hard through 115 Degrees in heavy smoke/ash, I asked them to check the Air Filter and they checked the Cabin Filter Instead, Also on the paperwork it says clean cabin filter haha what do you do blow it out!? It should say replace/replaced cabin filter because I don’t know of any legit places that should just clean a cabin air filter that’s not very professional in my eyes, If I was doing it at home then yeah maybe I’d take a air compressor to it and blow out all the debris and dirt but most likely I’d just replace it with a new one, I sent a text to the service advisor stating that I was confused by the paperwork saying that it says Customer Authorizes Toyota Care 15,000 Mile Synthetic Oil Maintenance Service but below says (No Oil Change) In the reply I got back it said something like Oil Changes are done every 10,000 Miles and the 15,000 Mile Synthetic was just for Rotation Of Tires And 19 Point Inspection Haha I replied back Synthetic has absolutely nothing to do with Rotating Tires Or Vehicle Inspections ........ Synthetic has to do with a type of Oil so why would they put 15,000 Mile Synthetic Oil Maintenance Service. I don’t know what’s going on over at Carson Toyota but this seems like a bit of a joke all I can do is shake my head and laugh, Between what’s been said verbally and what the paperwork says and from what I’m experiencing Myself with the Vehicle NONE of it adds up or makes sense
