Sean was fine at the beginning. I didn’t get to interact with him when I picked up my vehicle but I did interact with manager Michael Horner/Honner (I believe was his last name). Unfortunately, I know there was a scratch that was left on my vehicle which was not there before I dropped my vehicle off. A young man went to go get a paper which the service people use to inspect the vehicles prior to sending them off to service. However, seeing that the young man took a while and I noticed the sheet was not completely accurate to my car, I suspect that it was not an accurate sheet. It could have been very easy to quickly draw that scratch in before bringing that sheet over. There are marks on my car which were not marked on the inspection sheet, meaning the sheet was not completely thoroughly marked when my vehicle was inspected. This makes me question the validity of the sheet and whether or not someone attempted to cover up the scratch that was left on my vehicle simply by adding a scratch on the sheet copy last minute. When I talked to the manager he responded extremely sarcastically and then proceeded to say, “then the next time you come in I will take an hour to inspect every inch of your car I don’t care how long it takes”. It is not my fault that my vehicle was not thoroughly inspected, and I did not appreciate being yelled at so rudely when all I did was raise concern when I noticed the inspection sheet was inaccurate. Secondly, I was told that I would be “put in the system with notes” so that I was listed as someone who needed “hours of thorough inspection”. I don’t know if that translates to “I will put you in as a problematic client” or not but that was the impression I received. Overall my experience was not pleasurable due to the lack of attention and rude conduct toward me. I have been visiting Elmore Toyota since I bought my vehicle in 2017 and have never had a problem like this before. And if this is the argument that the manager had in mind, which is what I believe he had in mind, I certainly was not trying to “make money” off of the scratch nor was I attempting to have my car redone free of cost. I have come for my vehicle service before with scratches that I have made, and have never ever made an accusation. So, that argument is futile- to make that assumption is offensive. The recommendation I have is for you to provide a copy of the vehicle inspection sheet right after inspecting, and having both parties sign in before picking up the vehicle and then after dropping off the car. Clearly, this is something I will have to request from now on.
