Tech got grease on a pillar and headliner. Car was cleaned and left a spot on the headliner after it was cleaned. The grease was put there when I took the car in for a check engine light. Tech was not confident that recommended repair would fix the issue. Repair was made at $325. Couple of days later check engine light is back on this time the recommended service is $159. Just prior to this I took my Tacoma for service and it was recommended that my power steering fluid be changed and they needed to replace clamps on the lines at an additional $100. After the service my truck was leaking power steering fluid. It didn’t leak before. Took it back in and was quoted $3000.00 to replace the rack and pinion as well as both h/l pressure lines. After talking to the Craig the cost was lowered to $1500.00 but still too much for something that wasn’t an issue before it was “serviced”. I have been going to Newark Toyota for 15yrs for service on my vehicles. Historically I haven’t had issues. The service has kept me buying Toyotas. The past couple of times I have not been pleased with the quality of work and disappointed in the lack of interest to follow up on issues that were communicated as a result of the sub par service. Stain is still on the headliner and truck is still leaking power steering fluid. Not to mention wasted money while techs are doing “swaptronics” because the issue can’t be identified.
