My following comments are about the vehicle not the service. Please feel free to share this feedback with the manufacturer.
- Moderately satisfied with the 2016 Volkswagen Passat S.
- Positive: overall reliability is ok. Bought the vehicle at 44k miles. Now 142k miles.No major mechanical problems.
- Negative: the engine burns oil. I keep having to buy oil to topp it off. Disappointing from a German manufacturer especially since I performed all required maintenance.
- Negative: the air conditioning system malfunction (stuck on heat for left side). Had to fix it on my own expense. Again, Disappointing long term quality and reliability for a German manufacturer. I would be happy to control the air conditioning with old school levers that always work instead of buttons that fail. Currently the air conditioning is broken at feet level so my feet are freezing in the winter.
Negative: EPC light came on because of suspected carbon deposits on the injectors so I constantly have to purchase injector cleaning fluid to correct the problem. Again, disappointing long term reliability from a German manufacturer.
