When we scheduled the recall appointment, we said we wanted just the recall work done. Upon arrival we learned an oil change was on the ticket. We had that removed and restated that we just wanted the recall work done. Less than an hour later we got a call about the results of an alignment check and again stated our desire to only have the recall work done. Throughout the process we couldn’t get an estimate of how long the recall work would take, despite waiting 6 weeks for the appointment because there were so many recall vehicles ahead of us (this should give a competent and honest service department an excellent idea of how long the work will take). Because of this we ended up renting a vehicle through Hertz (the RSM Ford “special rate” with Enterprise was more expensive than Hertz) that we ended up not needing because we got a call saying the Fusion was ready. We cancelled the rental and picked up the Fusion. At this point it was really tight for one of us to get to work on time. We stayed this at the pickup. Then the car was taken through the car wash. We shared our dissatisfaction with Steven when we picked up the car. A half hour later we received a text from Miguel that the car was ready. We’ve had two experiences with the Ford service department. The first one was similarly frustrating. This is why we only bring the vehicle to RSM Ford when required, e.g. recall, and don’t plan to purchase another vehicle from this dealership.

Steve was great, however whoever did the service and repairs on my vehicle were sloppy, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. The car was delivered to me with scuff marks and dirt on the entry door panels and floor mats and dirty handprints and grease all over the inside interior parts. There was overspray on the car from repairing the bed liner I noticed when I looked it over more carefully when I got home. I detailed the car before I dropped it off for the work and received my brand new Raptor like this after the service was done. Steve did offer to have someone clean it up for me but I was in a hurry and needed to get home. I cleaned up the car the next day, but there are still some small scratches on the door entry panels. I was able to carefully clean off the bed-liner overspray thankfully. Brand new dream truck, almost $90,000, and the service people treat it like they could care less if they put the first scratches on my truck and trash it. No respect for MY property.
As well, when I purchased the car and was working through financing for a couple hours I was told they were going to clean and wash my car to be ready me when I was done, however, when the truck was presented to me it appeared someone just threw the floor mats in place and the car was clearly not washed as it was covered in dirt dust and handprints, and there was debris in the bed. Very disappointing, but it was an oversight until I brought it back for some fixes and again I had a bad experience.
Again I want to stress that Steven was absolutely a pleasure to work with and completely professional and helpful. The sales people were also equally great people to work with. My disappointment comes with everything after I purchased the vehicle and how the people I never met treated it.
I need to return for one more repair on my truck and at this point I have fear and a lack of confidence the service will be done professionally without further damage to my new vehicle. I can easily get in get in and out of the truck without dragging my feet across the door panels so maybe some training or oversight might help.
Every other dealer service I have used for my other branded vehicles protect the interior and deliver the vehicle back to me in better condition than when I delivered it and usually washed. This is my first Ford truck purchase in 20 years. I had heard good things about the Santa Margarita dealership. Is this typical of Ford?

I had my son bring my 2013 ford f-150 To your service department to have them look at my battery as I just had it replaced by a ford dealership in San Juan Capistrano about a month or so ago. Dwane tells my son he needs a receipt, why do I need this as I just had this done by a ford dealer who has all this info when I had this done. Then he tells me something about it to with hippa laws, this has nothing to do with Hippa !! My wife works for a company and Definitely has nothing to do with this, then he tells me that if it was a warranty issue it would be no problem well when you buy a warranty or you buy a product some times it comes with a warranty. YES! Dwane Tells me that that because I paid cash or credit card that he can’t look this up ? Really are you kidding me !! Then how do you get the warranty then if you buy it with a credit card or cash ? This is in My opinion very wrong. And by the way this was the same reason I did not come back to this service department because of this guy!! Now I’m rethinking my options to have my NEW CAR I just bought there. I had just done a survey too now I want to re do that as well. I will be contacting the service manager and the owner of this dealership too.
