I took my under factory warranty with a platinum warranty atlas in for a cel (p0456 code) for replacement of the charcoal canister and purge valve per the tsb 01-19-09TT And 20-23-01TT. When I arrived everything seemed routine and they said they have seen this issue and it’s common (I had a 2018 atlas that had the same issue beforehand that I fixed with the new canister and n80 valve then submitted claim with vw America for reimbursement). I left the vehicle and the next day they say I have an injector fault which wasn’t there on drop off because I scanned the car prior and took note's, then they say it will be $3500 to fix the so called injector issue (never had a code for it in the 6 months I’ve owned this 2021 atlas it’s always shown a p0456 every other week). So I said how is that an issue now when it’s never had that code (I’m a certified diesel tech and work on gas vehicles too also I have my own vw programming scanner). They wanted to hit my warranty for that replacement then move on to the tsb replacement. I told them to not mess with it and I will come pick it up then they started to back track saying warranty will pay for it and not to worry and I told them no I will pick up the car because that sounds fishy. So once I got the car they still robbed me of $250 because it’s a “diagnostic fee” for not doing any work and trying to hustle me for something that wasn’t an issue before dropping it off. I picked up the car with then took it to another vw dealer for the p0456 code and they said it’s the canister and it’s all covered since it’s a tsb. I will submit this issue to vw America for trying to swindle customers into fake warranty repairs and robbing them of $250 for a bs diagnostic fee. I will not do business with Brandon vw again and I want my $253 back.

This is my second experience where the quote I received was MUCH higher than what I paid. When I booked the appointment online to have my battery replaced, the price estimate was $180. When I arrived the next day, Rolando told me that it was going to be $600. He and I had been texting, the day prior, getting my loaner set up. When I commented on the price discrepancy, he did acknowledge that the actual price was different than the price online. He said that he had intended on telling me. He did explain the difference in an after market battery and one certified through the dealership. If these sticker shock experiences at the Service Department continue, I will need to think very long and hard about purchasing another VW in the future.
