My daughter lost all of her electric power about four miles from my home. She was stuck in the middle of the street. After I came down to rescue her we found that the battery was dead. So I drove over to the parts store with her and bought a new one. We went back to her car and I installed it. We figured it was a bad battery so after she started the car she drove back to the parts store where the refunded her money on the original battery. While there they tested the system on her car. They said that the alternator was bad. So the next day she took the car out to Colonial and had them check it in order to get it fixed. Whoever tested it said there was nothing wrong with the alternator. So scratching her head a little and figuring the Toyota mechanic must be write, she came home. The next day she had to take her dog to the vet in New Alexandria. While there and waiting the power steering light came on and as she left to go out on rout 22 highway she couldn’t steer the vehicle very well so she stopped at the speedway gas station and the car died. So I drove twenty miles to rescue her once again. Finding her battery dead and not wanting to spend money on towing fees we drove to Walmart in Latrobe and bought the cheapest battery they had. We then drove back to the speedway. I installed the battery and she was able to drive it home. The next morning I told her to drive back to Colonial Toyota and get it fixed. So she went out and they finally decided that it was a bad alternator. Because they didn’t have one in stock they told her she could drive home and come back the next day. The next day she went back and barely got five or so miles when the car died again. She called Colonial Toyota and they sent a tow truck. I meanwhile had to retrieve her and bring her home. She is a student at the University and an employee of a daycare center. She had to call off work for a day and skip her classes. I am retired and I spent precious time and money rescuing my daughter. She lost work, school and precious time over this. The dangers of driving on a super highway and windy country roads with a dead power steering unit cannot be calculated. When I mentioned this to your representatives their reply was that they paid for the tow then they charge my part time working full time student daughter $600.00 for replacing the alternator. So all I can say is thanks a lot for the job well done. My name is on that car, she’s buying it. Because of previous dealings I’ve had, it has become doubtful that any future business when looking for a new car will be done at Colonial Toyota and instead with another dealer. Ps. The road hazard protection expired a year ago with no explanation. I wonder what else has expired on her car that would have come under the protections that were promised when she bought it?

Insurance check was higher than amount due. What happens to additional funds (check was cashed by colonial)?
