I ordered crossbars to be installed on my Pilot. Parts were ordered but could not be installed without another part that would double the cost. We have brought my daughter’s car in for service at the dealership several times since we bought it there and have never had any problems until today. I am so disappointed with our experience today. After today, I have no plans of ever coming back for sales or service. This one visit ruined it all. I know service departments make their money off of up-sales, but to be flat out lied to is completely unacceptable. My daughter was having issues with her brakes and dropped her car off to be looked at. They told her she needed pads and a rotor on the left side. They said her, “antifreeze was brown”, and she needed an oil change and transmission flush as well. They also said the caliber was stuck on the LEFT side and they had greased it and got it unstuck. The total was going to be somewhere around $600. I came to get the car to trailer it home so I could just fix it myself. I got the car home and took this all apart on the left side since we had been told the left side was the problem. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the left side…at all! I tore the right side down. This side did need pads and a rotor. The caliber that had supposedly been unstuck and greased had maybe had a little WD-40 sprayed on it but it wasn’t greased like they told me. I called back and talked to the service advisor that told me it was the left side just to make sure I didn’t misunderstand something and to make sure the referred to the driver’s side as the left side of the vehicle. He told me again it was the left side. So they told her she needed an oil change, however she just had the oil changed three days ago. So basically they were trying to take full advantage of this young female by up-selling an oil change and all of this stuff she didn’t need. I paid $125 to get her car released to I could work on it myself. I understand that charge and what it was for but at this point I think they should refund that money due to their unethical and unprofessional ways of flat out lying to both her and myself. I’ve been a mechanic for over 25 years and I know what I’m talking about here. I’ll make sure I spread the word about our experience so others can be warned to keep their vehicles out of there. I’ll be glad to speak with anybody that would like to talk to me.
