Daniel McCoy and Kelly Trevino were great and super helpful with the process of finding and buying the truck I’ve been looking for. Unfortunately, they were a small part of my experience. My unpleasant experience was strictly from the “finance manager” Andres Alvarez. I have had troublesome buying experiences from dealers and always like to keep my time at them short when buying a vehicle.
His approach was straight forward at first but then became to be condescending and accusatory of what I was and wasn’t willing to share with him. I didn’t want to disclose my rates from credit union because I didn’t want my credit pulled too many times from multiple institutions.
I knew it had to be for collateral purposes, in case the loan wasn’t funded. But when he found out my rate was different from what I told him— he quickly became abrasive and told me that he “didn’t want to play games”…
First red flag set the tone of the whole transaction.
Second, was when it came to my navy federal draft check. I was explaining the process of how navy federal handles trade ins and he spoke to me as I didn’t know what I was talking about and how I have it all wrong.
Insinuating that I came into the dealer without enough to cover the loan.
I pulled up navy federal loan professors to speak with him and he was still coming off abrasive and unsure of what to do.
I’m perfectly fine if you are not familiar with a process- but own that…he insisted that I essentially didn’t know what I was talking about and that I need to cover the difference even though I had everything I needed.
Finally, he brought in Dan (thank god) and he came to his aid to inform him what his side of the process looks like.
..
Going over disclosures, he didn’t even explain what I was signing—I was reading the documents which he clearly was further agitated about.
Lastly, when deal was done— no thanks for my business- no congratulations- just a boot out. I rang the bell..wooohooo.
..
Andres needs some insight/training on his approach with customers.
I drove 4 hours away to make this purchase and coordinated my time and effort to provide my business. If it wasn’t for the high demand of this particular vehicle- I would’ve walked. And because of this- I’ll definitely inform people of my experience.
..
Every other employee I interacted with was extremely helpful and kind. Many congratulated me and were pleasant from beginning interactions to final ones.
Thankfully I got to close my business with Kelly with some walkthroughs with the vehicle.
..
I’m hopeful that everything else goes smooth with the funding from my loan.
Those final steps are supposed to be handled by Andres before my loan is posted.
Fingers crossed.
