Horrible customer service, I went in to complete an oil change and was recommended a dealer service package (60k miles) for my Forester. I was not giving proper explanation of services being suggested. When I closely looked at the details, I requested some items to be removed due to already completing those specific items at an earlier date. Seems like service writer and express tech do not have any customer service skills. When items were removed the price actually went up. Not only did I question this but once again no one could give me a proper answer. I was told it would be a 5 hour wait which I understand but I do have the Gold package warranty and requested a loaner. Which they did not have. I did make an appointment at a later date, but after further research and reviewing my owners warranty and service book. I didn’t need most of the items that were being up sold. I asked for and itemized price Sam nor Frank could assist. I called Autobarn Subaru explained my frustration and they were kind to make sure my Forester received factory recommended service no extra items were added and proper expectations and customer service was provided. I didn’t have to make an appointment I was able to get my Forester serviced same day and loaner was provided. This makes me question the integrity of the service department on how they up sale clients with out there knowledge. Seems like service writer is only looking out for his best interest not the clients. I definitely will not be returning to do any other service at International Subaru due to incompetent associates. I have had previous issues with dealer with my brakes and suspension. Sam explained that my rotors have hot spots and that rotors are not made properly from Subaru. I was told screeching noise is not a safety issue it’s a personal issue which makes no sense seems like he was suggesting parts are defective and when I returned back for same issue and vibration I was told it was a suspension issue which I had to return to realign vehicle due to steering wheel pulling to the right. Issue was fixed and was charged for a muffler rattle inspection which was not justified how the tech spent an hour to come to the conclusion I needed a new muffler, I had to send video and based on video the answer was I needed a new muffler. Seeems like this dealer doesn’t care about the client. Sam personally told me to call corporate Subaru to ask for warranty on a break job completed at 44k when I brought it in it only had 53k now with 58k miles I am questioning why I wasted $1200 to get my rotors and break pads replaced if they only would last 9k miles? I will definitely call corporate Subaru to complain and I also would like the service manager Erick to give me a call to explain my frustration. Honestly lost a loyal paying client, will tell everyone to go elsewhere. (Autobarn Subaru) seems to know how to treat clients and explain services and not trying to up sell things not needed.

Appreciate the personal touch that Katie Doogan gives me. Makes me feel very comfortable knowing my car is getting personal care. Love the extra clean wash and vacuuming when work is done. I'm not just a drop in when she walks me to my car. I'm a somebody she wants to please with satisfaction of work provided

I’ve had service done here twice in the past two weeks, both times Matthew was fantastic! He kept me updated on my vehicle’s progress, explained everything to me in detail, and was even able to offer financial compensation due to long wait times, having to return to the dealership for ordered parts, and new issues that were found during my second visit. I appreciate the amazing customer service and look forward to continuing business here.
