I came in with my request to do a check engine light diagnoses and more importantly an engine diagnoses. Set it up online and cost was going to be $190 which was fine. Came in Friday morning and dropped off the car. The rep was nice and I explained to him that I have concerns about the engine because of a very bad shaking while idling. He said the tech will check it out and give us a report of what happening. The car sat there till Tuesday when he reached out to me and told me there are misfire codes and this is because the coil packs are aftermarket which I have never heard of. I asked if there were any other issues in the engine and he said not right now. He said we have to fix the coil packs first and then diagnose again if there are any other issues. I was taken back by his reply because he was asking me to pay about 2200$ to fix the coil packs first and then diagnose if there are any other issues which will cost more money of course. I asked him if they had done the engine diagnoses and he said not yet because they have to change the coils packs first. If I wanted someone to plug in a code reader and tell me the codes on the car I could have went to Auto Zone done it for free and would have been done in less than 10 minutes. I was very mad and dissatisfied with the service. If I’m paying for a service that you offer I would expect you to do the service and not run a code reader and be done with the car if I choose not to proceed with your ridiculous rate. I even tried to reach out to the manager and left him a message to call me back and I have yet to get a call back. Complete waste of my time and money. I took the car down to the local mechanic shop and he immediately diagnosed it to be a bent valve and not the coils packs like they “diagnosed”.
