My husband brought in my vehicle to obtain a key for the key fob that was given to us at time of vehicle purchase. My husband was expecting some resistance from Jorge, a sales person that assisted us in the purchase and also the contact we reached out to for assistance with the key. Jorge was not accommodating. However, when my husband arrived at the dealership, he was welcomed by Alexander and the whole Lexus team who immediately had the key fabricated. As my husband waited for the key at the dealership, it was a pleasant experience. There was a nice sitting area that allowed him to work on his laptop, enjoy a cup of coffee and snacks. We really appreciate Alexander’s help.

Great car

I called in to Lexus Carlsbad one week in advance to make an appt for a lube and oil change for Friday, 1/5. Since the entire day was free I picked 11am for my lube and oil change. I arrived at 11am and Tom Morrell helped me. He asked if I wanted to wait for the work to be completed but I declined since I only lived a mile away and would come back later in the day to pick up my vehicle. I also declined the rental car since it was easy for my wife to drive me. I figured why go through your expense with a rental. Tom said it would be ready around 4:15 or so that day. I called around 4pm Friday to confirm it was ready for me to come down and pick up. Tom called back apologizing that it would not be ready until tomorrow Saturday late morning. I of course didn’t understand this since it was only a lube and oil change and Tom had said it was going to be ready Friday late afternoon. Tom was very apologetic saying it was his fault for not telling the service department to be ready at 4pm Friday. Service couldn’t get to it until Saturday morning to complete by noon Saturday. What I can’t understand is why would the service department receive a car for a simple lube and oil at 11am (with an appt) and not even start the lube and oil change at all on Friday afternoon. Seems to me the service department forgot about my vehicle and didn’t care I had made an appt and brought the car in at 11am. My car was not ready until 11am on Saturday. 24 hours to perform a lube and oil! As I said earlier Tom took full responsibility for the delay saying he didn’t tell the service department to have done at 4pm Friday afternoon. My problem is not with Tom but the service department. When a customer makes an appt for service work, why didn’t the service start the work immediately. Was there a more “important” customer they took ahead of me? Again 24 hours for a lube and oil is ridiculous!
