The splash plate on my car was not resecured properly, and as I was driving on the highway, it fell off and was dragging underneath my car. I had to call AAA for assistance to come take the part off. The Acura technician was negligent and not only was it terribly inconvenient, as it forced me to reschedule my entire day, but it was also a safety issue, as I had to wait on the side of the road with my infant in the backseat as I waited for AAA to come.
Now, I purposely did not fill out the customer satisfaction survey until today because I was waiting to give Acura a chance to make it right. However, when I called and asked for the part to be replaced and put back on AND for a refund of the $230 that I paid for the service (because it was not done correctly) I was told that they can either get me a new part and replace it for free OR give me a refund. That is completely unacceptable.
The part should be replaced for free anyway, and the refund should be given because I paid for a service that was not done properly.
I have been a long-term customer at Acura of Auburn, but the fact that I am not automatically being given a refund for negligent service AND getting the new part replaced for free shows me that Acura’s claim of being dedicated to customer satisfaction is a joke.
Once the part is replaced, I will not be returning to Acura of Auburn.
