I brought my car in for it's warranty service and when I was getting my keys I was told I had an almost $500 bill. I brought up it was warranty service, it was missed, so the invoice was changed to then reflect an almost $300 bill. When I inquired why I was getting billed for warranty service I was told the filters weren't covered nor the diagnosis of trunk struts. Neither of which was told to me when I dropped off my vehicle. I was told that, even though it's a known issue by the Toyota employees, that warranty service doesn't reflect correctly booking online. no one communicated that to me until after the work was done.
Ultimately I was not charged so I am glad for that, but the employee was definitely irritated with me for questioning why I was being charged.
Before this visit I have always had a pleasant experience. This experience was not.

I came in for a known third brake light issue with my truck but because I had done the recall in Jan 2022, I was told I would need to pay nearly $1,800 for the repair. It was insisted that I have a full water test conducted, for $600 even though the leak location was clear. I elected to call Toyota corporate to see if they would cover any of the repairs, they declined. I was sent home with the interior of my truck still torn apart from the water test, the truck is not safe to drive and now I need to have the repair done elsewhere. Nicolas charged me for only labor however I now have a vehicle that is unsafe to drive my children in and feel like Toyota has not stood by their product. My wife and I both currently drive Toyota vehicles but based on my experience, we will never purchase another Toyota vehicle again and I will not suggest anyone I know purchase a Toyota vehicle. I plan to tell my friends and family about my negative experience with Toyota of Puyallup and Toyota, in general.

This is the second time I’ve had a negative experience at this Toyota dealership. I went in today to have a free check up. While doing the check up they said they found other problems. They called me to tell me about the problems they found. I told them I didn’t want them to do anything about these identified problems because I have my car service elsewhere. They said I agreed to have them make the repairs. I realize it’s my word against theirs, but the bill came to $700. I paid it but I never told them to work on my car.

I had an appointment for 7:30am on 3 Jan. I was told the work on my vehicle would be completed by 10:30 and I would receive a phone call when the work was complete. By 4pm I still had not heard from the dealership so I called. I was told to check back in an hour. I called back in an hour and I was told that my work order had been misplaced. This was a huge inconvenience to us and meant that my wife was unable to attend my son's soccer game.

The overall experience was not great. When I got my car back the front desk told me that service marked my cabin air filter as a red (in bad shape). After asking what that meant and why they didn’t replace it he told me he wasn’t sure and that they usually send him a photo if it’s really bad. I asked him if they could replace it but he said since the service was completed I had to go over to the parts counter to purchase one and then he could come out and install it for me. This caused me to wait around for extra time as he was helping other customers. It was indeed very dirty.
I also asked about the punch card I have on my keys for oil changes and if they still do that and he told me they don’t but it would get me 30% off the one of the maintenance packages. When I asked him if I could do that he told me it was too late since everything has already been written up (I was suppose to do it in the beginning). This was frustrating given I had no idea this was even an option. Also asked them to see if there was any weird noises coming from inside the cabin when they started it but they never mentioned anything regarding that request…
I am pretty loyal to this store and low maintenance but today’s experience was the worst I have had.
