I brought the car in to get the charcoal canister replaced. Before I get into that. I got a check engine light and had a diagnostic done and came back with a P04417 Evap Purge Valve code. I replaced it myself because it was pretty straight forward. Check engine light was gone and running well until 9/13 when the engine light came on. Idle RPM was all over the place. So I scheduled to get the Charcoal Canister replaced. $875 later I was told that it fixed the problem. Got to my driveway and check engine light came back on and idle RPM was all over the place. Called back to let the service department know I’m coming back. I got to the Service Center and let the car run to have people witness what was going on. They took it back. Just to tell me that it was running lean and the purge valve needed to be replaced and it’s $374 out the door. First of why wasn’t it caught the first time after the install of the charcoal canister. Why was I told that it was running lean after coming back? I didn’t pay for the $374 and I didn’t want to cause a scene and said I’ll just get the purge valve and ask if it was in stock. Your rep said yes just to find out it had to be ordered and it’ll be here the next day.
Unsatisfactory! Make it right for other people that trust you guys to bring their cars to get serviced there.
