I do not blame Haley for this, but the first time I went in to Elk Grove Kia I was told my service appointment was not for what I had told them over the phone. I explicitly stated my A/C unit was not working properly, and instead I was given a regular fluids and normal maintenance appointment. I had to wait an additional week for the next available appointment for the actual issue. I accept a certain amount of human error in all things, but not being able to correctly interpret “My A/C is not working” is simply unacceptable. The process should be seamless, and it was not in my case. Elk Grove Kia should work to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

We brought our car into EG Kia due to a battery not holding a charge (leased in Dec 2023 as a 2024 MY). We had to jump it multiple times just to get it to the dealership, where we figured it was a quick fix to just replace the battery under warranty. We were soooo wrong! Evidently Kia has so many hoops to jump through to prove a battery is caput, that the dealership had the car for 20 days! TWENTY DAYS!!! The dealership had to have some battery testing machine finally declare the battery as a “bad battery, recommend replacement,” before they could actually do that. During that 20 days they charged the battery, investigated for a parasitic draw, etc. We live over an hour away from this dealership. It’s not super convenient to go to, but it is what it is. After about the 10-day mark I called for some kind of update because we hadn’t heard what was happening. We got the, “We are waiting to see what the Kia machine says in order to replace the battery.” Ok, cool. I called, left a message again for an update. No call back. Had to physically go to the dealership to ask what gives. I was upset that there was NO communication from the service advisor telling us ANYTHING! I met with Ryan, and key him know that no communication was unacceptable. They had my husband’s phone number AND email! Just keep your clients in the loop as to what’s happening with their car!!! Luckily, this wasn’t our only car so we had another choice, but imagine if it was. EG Kia does nothing to help someone get into a rental for warranty work, you’re directed to call Kia corporate. Honestly, this is a HUGE turnoff for the brand. That may have nothing to do with the dealership, but for a brand not to have something set up with dealerships boggles my mind, as they tout a 10-year warranty on their cars! Make that make sense!

I feel as a widow sometimes, sensitively is not expressed and sometimes taken advantage of. Besides the cost of the work I asked that my car be washed and when it was presented to me after waiting 3 hrs. I had to request that my car be rewashed as it was unacceptable. To me that was just a slap in the face as a woman and represented your service as unacceptable. Louella C
