Staff was great, waiting area is awesome, makes the time fly by. Vehicle was ready in a timely manner. Very efficient. Wasn’t nickel and dimed.

I was in for a 2 hour recall job that took 4 days when asked what took so long I was told that “there’s a backlog of work and not enough techs,” which I completely understand. When I questioned my appointment and how that worked in the scheduling process I was told, “the appointment only gets you a spot in line, it’s not actually an appointment for work.” As a tech myself I find this outlook completely bizarre. If you get an appointment at the doctor’s office are you going to sit there and wait your turn for 4 days for a 2 hour appointment? When I asked for work updates I was told the work “typically takes 3-4 days.” Absolutely abysmal experience from front to back. Then when I pick the car up the porter tells me my clutch is “shot” after I was informed almost none of the porters there can drive a manual and my clutch hasn’t felt right since. I will not be returning to Akins.
