I received a call from Brandon at Akins today, after I dropped my car off for an oil change and tire rotation, that I need my engine filter and cabin filter replaced. First off, there is no such thing as an engine filter. It’s an air filter. Second, my cabin filter was replaced a month ago. My husband called back to ask what the issue was and Brandon replied that they didn’t actually check the cabin filter and that they just go off mileage. Additionally, the sensors in my tires are now messed up. Upon getting in my vehicle, my tire pressure was reading in the 60s. I thought it would fix itself, but it still has not. Even after turning my car off and on several times. Not impressed. It never fails that there is an issue when I get an oil change here. I’m a glutton for punishment, clearly.

I was told I needed $4,700 worth of repairs. I took my car to another mechanic and was told my oil was not leaking only minor seepage. They said no repairs or replacement parts were needed and that I should be able to drive my car for some time with no problems. And they charged me nothing for the inspection.
I have had my car serviced at Akins for 5 plus years, I bring my grandson cars, my son Rouis F 250 and my daughter in laws Expedition for service to Akins. I am shocked and very disappointed that you took advantage of a senior on a limited income.
I have asked for someone in management to call me but have heard nothing.
This is totally unacceptable on many levels.

I have never really had a negative experience until this one. Communication was not ideal or to your standard. You have always set the bar incredibly high. I felt like I never truly knew what was going on. The truck was dropped and returned today, 4 weeks later. I was not given the whole picture or kept in the know IMO.
Nice job to recover and deliver the vehicle with a full tank of gas.
