I was patient about buying a new truck. 19 years patient and the last one I bought was from Akins. This 24’ has obvious noise and vibration in 8th, 9th and 10th gears. I was told the noise and vibration couldn’t be felt after you replaced the ring and pinion. That was not the case when I picked it up. The same level of noise and vibration persisted. It’s back with your service department now. I can say that the ‘rental’, a 2024 XLT, has no noise or rotational vibration. None.

I had an 2019 F150 3.5 ecoboost engine replacement that cost over $19,000.00 dollars. I initially had to take my truck to Greenville Fairway . Their service team were very unprofessional so I had it towed to Tryon, N.C. To Stott’s Ford (close to where I was working out of town)because they had worked on my truck due to some check engine lights and misfiring that they took two visits to get it fixed and back on the road. They replaced spark plugs, ignition coils, boots, and a catalytic converter in May this year. The truck had an obvious cold start rattle and I was not told that the phasers were defective at anytime. Was never even discussed as a potential problem. Anyways, I was really impressed by how my parents were treated when you handled some repairs for them so I thought I am going to tow my truck because they actually treat their customers right and I have not seen this from Mall of GA Ford or these other dealerships so I paid over a thousand dollars to bring it to Akins because I was told that there was another dealership that had an engine that we could acquire and we would be on schedule to get the truck fixed and problem solved. Well that fell thru. And my truck sat on your lot for over a month waiting to get an engine to swap out with the engine that failed. This whole time I’m asking for a courtesy truck to drive because I am paying ridiculous rental fees to go back and forth to work. The whole time I was told that not a single truck had come available that I could use. Over the time my truck was not able to be fixed I accumulated $3,800.00 in rental fees. And after asking the service manager, he sent out **** to tell me there is nothing they can do about the **** of debt that I have taken due to a back ordered part for a 2019 vehicle. Not a 2024-2025 or a 20 yr old model a 5 yr old truck without parts available to fix it in a timely manner. So on top of that, I get my truck back and it’s leaking oil onto the pavement is how I noticed and that was handled this last Saturday after another visit to the service department. Now on Monday I look under my truck and there are three leaks in my exhaust system, one right behind the new catalytic converter, one behind the muffler and another by the resonator. How did this go undetected and I feel like this is never going to end. So now Am I going to be told I need to drop off my truck again and have to pay for more work that went undetected. I am hoping this message finds someone well and can understand that I don’t enjoy explaining to my co workers, my friends, my family about all the hardships That I’ve been dealing with(did I mention I replaced the transmission at 93,000 miles out of warranty) yes a a total of $30,000.00 in repairs. $19,000 engine $8500 transmission $3,000.00 at Tryon for misfiring and catalytic converter. And I must say I religiously kept the oil and oil filter changed at 30% remaining on the oil life cycle. This was not caused due to poor maintenance. Please review this matter and I would like to know what Akins Ford owner/GM or What Ford Motor Company will respond to a loyal Ford family that has only driven Ford vehicles for the last 4 generations. I drive Ford because that’s all my grandfather ever drove and I know he had his reasons and had the respect of the Ford Motor company for being such a huge influence in the US victory in WWIi when Ford turned their production facilities to make planes and tanks and they were able to out produce the advisary and it brought an end to the war and brought our men home. We never had a conversation about it while he was still living on this earth but when I learned the history of that unimaginable war they lived thru and survived it alll and it made perfect sense to me why he only bought products that were made in the USA and only drove Ford trucks, the motor company that helped our country win their war. With that said, I don’t think I’ll ever switch up but it’s been real difficult trying to remain a loyal Ford customer and I think my grandpa would agree.
