I thought the labor costs were fair enough . But the parts prices were way too high . Simple filters nothing electronic or high tech cost at least twice what I could get them for at reputable parts stores. I think I’ll take my vehicle elsewhere unless this can be rectified.

Back on February 19, I received an e-mail from Toyota South with a coupon for Brake Service Special** for $239.95 per axle. The coupon stated FRONT - OR - REAR ?Service includes: Replace brake pads, machine rotors and inspect hardware, test drive. Cannot be combined with any other coupon, offer, or advertised special. **Toyotas only. SUVS and trucks, shim kit at additional cost if required. Please present coupon at time of write-up. May not be combined with any other coupon, offer or special. Expires Mar 20, 2024.
When I called to schedule the appointment I told the person on the phone that I had a coupon for the brake special and that I believed I would need both front and rear brake service but that the rear may be ok. The person on the phone said they would check when vehicle was there to see if rear was ok or needed replaced. At no time on the phone was I told that the coupon only applied to one axle nor was I told that inspecting the brakes would be an up charge. When I arrived for the appointment on March 1, my plan was to have both front and rear brakes serviced with the expectation that I would be able to use the coupon and pay $239.95 per axle for both axles knowing that if rotors couldn’t be turned on brake lathe that new rotors would be an extra cost. Upon arriving I was told I would need to pay $30 for a brake inspection which seemed unnecessary and I refused this inspection because I knew I needed front brakes for sure. I was also told that I could not use the coupon for both axles, that it could only be used for one axle and I’d have to pay full price for second axle. Then I was informed that using this coupon did not allow for replacement OEM brake pads but instead it was for some inferior grade pad and OEM pads would be an up charge. When I asked how I was supposed to know this information based upon the e-mail / coupon that was sent to me the service representative agreed that it would be impossible for the consumer to know all of these limitations associated with this coupon. Matt Hinds did a good job of trying to diffuse the situation as I was starting to get very frustrated. Matt explain what was / was not allowable on this coupon according to his computer system. I just wish I’d known this information before coming in for service. Updating the fine print on your advertisements / coupons would be greatly appreciated and would prevent people like me from believing that your dealership may be practicing false advertising. I came into this service appointment expecting to spend around $500 and left spending close to $800. Thanks in advance for improving the communication so customers can be better informed prior to arriving at your dealership. On a positive note the brake service on both axles was completed faster than I normally have to wait for an oil change at your dealership.
