I had an 8:15 appointment for an oil change. They checked me in at 8:21. I was told an hour. I waited in the waiting area. They weren’t done with my car until 11:55. 3.5 hours for an oil change. I bought a 2019 Honda CRV from Frank Leta Honda on April 28, 2023.
It has been a horrible experience from the beginning.
First, when I went to look at the car, I noticed white paint and a dent on the side door. The car had already been through the certified preowned inspection, and that was not noted. I had to wait a few weeks for that to be fixed.
Then, there was a problem with me getting the title and I had to call the dealership several times to finally be able to pick up the title. It took so long, that Frank Leta Honda had to issue me a check to pay the late fee so I could go to the DMV and pay the sales tax.
In addition, when I got the car home, the foot motion was not working for the hatch to open. I took my car in for it to be fixed and was told that there wasn't even the needed part installed on the car for that to even operate. It was included in the price of the car, but the part wasn't there and they had to order it. This took weeks for the part to come in.
Once the part came in and they fixed the hatch, I brought the car home and the hatch still wouldn't open. It was like it was sticking or something.
When I went for the oil change today I mentioned how it seems like something is sticking and the hatch won't work. The service man told me it was because I spilled soda or something sticky in the back. I have never had food or drink out in that area and nothing that I have ever had in the trunk has spilled or leaked. It is my guess that when Frank Leta fixed the hatch somebody there was drinking something and spilled it, which left the sticky residue.
The service man told me I should just use dawn liquid soap and clean up the sticky residue myself. I asked him why they couldn't clean it up if it was so easy and he said it would have to go to the detail department and who knows how long it would take. Not a great response to give to a customer!
When I bought the car, I was told that I had two free oil changes and free car washes for the lifetime of the car. I told the service man today that I was going to use my first free oil change and he said that there's nothing in the records that indicated that I was to get a free oil change.
The employee who sold me the car does not work at Frank Leta anymore. I still have his phone number and I texted him in front of the service man and then showed the serviceman the employee's response, which was that yes, I was to receive two free oil changes. Even after the service man saw the employee's response that I was to receive two free oil changes, the service man would not honor it.
When I received the text message that my car was ready I noticed that they were recommending I get all four new tires. The car only had 19,000 miles on it when I bought it and I only put 14,000 miles on it. I don't understand how a certified preowned car could be sold to me when the tires were in that bad of condition. I was very concerned as I had an eight hour trip the next day and felt under pressure to purchase the new tires.
Finally, the service man said he would give me a discount but there is nothing on the receipt to indicate that I received a discount.
All in all, my experience has not been good. I feel like I have been taken advantage of, and I am not happy.
I would not recommend Frank Leta Honda to anyone else!

$833…. The additional cost I was told covered “shop fees” and tax.
Why wouldn’t you include that in the price you gave me before I came in?
I asked what the shop fees cover and I was told “rags and stuff like that”
You changed my side mirror and charged me $150 for an hour of labor. That can’t pay for the rags that you didn’t even use on my vehicle?
Ridiculous.
