I was told that the sensor malfunction on my car did not qualify for repair under warranty because the outside of the sensor was supposedly damaged and because of this it did not qualify. If something like this fails under 36,000 miles it should be covered under warranty because of failure due to poor design. I was also initially charged something called a “repair charge fee” of $24.50. They couldn’t really explain what this was and eventually took it off. If I bring my car in and am told I’m only going to be charged the diagnostic fee and proceed to get no work done on my car there should be no additional charges. This experience has led me to question my future relationship with Toyota that has existed since 2006.

Appointment was made 2-3 weeks in advance. Easy on line. Several reminders. Checked in for 7:30 AM Appointment @ 7:40AM. Received text notification on phone that I had failed my appointment Discussed notification with receptionist in service waiting area. She reassured me that it’s a common computer glitch. After 1 hour inquired about progress and again reassured in-progress. After 2 hours inquired and again reassured. After 2.5 hours service manager apologizes that car overlooked and now in process for oil change with tire rotation. Service completed free of charge. Barely made 11AM medical appointment in area.
After a 3 hour oil change and tire rotation appointment, I was approached about purchasing 4 new tires. I appreciate the desire to make business but it wasn’t the right time.
I have appreciated the service received in the past. Since I now live in south metro I will probably pursue my next purchase elsewhere.
