Had an 8.30am appointment for new tires to complete the inspection. At 9.45am they came over and told me they had ordered the wrong tires. That’s an hour and a quarter if you’re doing the math. Offered a free rental for a day but needed the truck for work. He said they’d go ahead and do the inspection anyway so I can get in and out fast when I return to get the tires on. Comes back at 10.15 with the keys. I told them I’d have to call and make a new appointment. I get in the truck and it’s not inspected! I go inside and ask him about it and he said that it couldn’t be inspected until the tires got put on. If he had just corrected himself when he gave me the keys it makes sense. But it’s annoying as hell to be told one thing only to discover another. I wasn’t sure if they had forgotten to put on the sticker or something but this is ALL due to really bad communication.

My car needed a lot more work than I could afford. I felt I was given the most expensive options without discussing having work done in stages, possible payment options, or used parts etc. I would come back to Toyota to handle hybrid issues, but have had more affordable , empathetic, and courteous help from my home town mechanic who is straight forward and capable. That’s worth more to me than a fancy showroom. I also was without a car for three weeks from the day I was stranded on the side of the road and had to pay to have it towed to the dealership. I made all the inquiries about when it could get back to me and was not given word back after chatting on a Wednesday if they could get the car in. When I finally called the following Wednesday I learned that my mechanic had been away . It would have been nice to know that I needed to get by without my car through another weekend and into the next week . After all that time with you my approved repairs were done well, which I’m grateful for. But another way to leave me happier would have been a quick wash or inside vacuum to feel like I mattered to y’all as a customer whether I had $3000 worth of work done or not. I know that is done for others. I feel like you need to have a better ear to the ground to your middle class customer base to imagine the hardship of what a person has to go through and then treat them with the same dignity and respect as your top tier folks.

My AC doesn't work, I think you should have been able to determined whether the ac compressor was bad or just the clutch. It's a huge difference in cost. So, both parts have been ordered but nobody knows what is broken. Then there's the free "multipoint inspection", which found over $6,000 in suggested maintenance! All that served was to reveal that a Tacoma doesn't last beyond 120,000 miles, especially when i look at the severe rust issues! I would rather not see a multipoint inspection.
