Vehicle interior smelled like gas after I got it back. I don’t think the rear tires are balanced correctly. I will have to bring it back in which means I lose more time from work!

I brought my truck in today, August 12, 2024, to have the steering wheel replaced. I mentioned the wind noise in the truck again to Eddie, the service advisor. This time I test-drove with the technician and pointed out what I heard. He also acknowledged hearing the whistle and wind noise. He had driven another truck of the same make and model and determined that it was "normal". This is unacceptable.
My wife, daughter, and son-in-law all drove this truck to Oklahoma and back 3 weeks ago and they all heard the whistle and excessive road and wind noises and can verify the same thing as I have brought it in twice for now.
As I stated in my last CSI survey, when a dealership "goes the extra mile," this has not been my experience. I understand that some things are what they are, but this is fixable. With over 30 years of experience in the auto repair industry, I know that when a technician tries to fix something, it usually gets better. However, Eddie, the service advisor, said that this is just the way this truck is.
When I was buying the truck, I was treated great and had a good experience overall with the negotiations and finance department. However, now that I am having issues with the build quality, the dealer doesn't seem willing or able to fix it. Perhaps it's due to lack of experience or ability, but some attempts to satisfy the customer should be made. Not just saying, "This is the way it is" after spending $40,000 for a vehicle. A customer has expectations when it comes to warranty issues. I feel that a really good effort has not been made to correct this issue. Additionally, the truck has excessive cabin road noise and wind noises that NEED to be corrected and not just waited out until the warranty expires, as some dealerships have been known to do. I hope that Toyota of Gastonia is not one of these types of dealers.
