Dear Toyota, My expectations of Toyota is very disappointing,frustrating and traumatizing. I had my multiple point inspection done during my oil change and I had specifically told Mckingley that I was going out of state. After a long drive from Escondido, California to Bryce Canyon city, Utah , with my 2018 rav4 , I had a bolt missing to hold my brake caliper. This happened on Saturday night September 7th 2024 at Bryce canyon, Utah. This did not only affect me but my family and relatives traveling with us. I had my 2 kids and wife with me. Knowing that there could have been a possibility that my brake caliper could have fallen during an uphill drive of a mountain is very shocking. Finding out these news put me and my wife in a nervous state. It makes me sick to my stomach think what could have happened. I was confident that my vehicle was running fine. Mckingley from his own words stated “if you we didn’t receive notice from inspection then your car is good to go”. When I signed up an online appointment I had put down oil change and brake inspection. When I came to Toyota I was not offered tire rotation or was offered for more services even after I had informed Mckingley that I was going out of state. After my appointment Mckingley now then offered a 70 dollar brake inspection and I said yes but he said I had to make an appointment. But since he had told me that if there isn’t any report coming back from the multiple point inspection I took his word. I looked at the paperwork in the inspection and someone did inspect my brakes because they reported my brakes to be “green “. Now I have a vehicle without a brake caliber bolt on a Sunday. There isn’t any car shops opened on a Sunday in Bryce Canyon to help me. This has really affected our vacation and my vehicle when I need it the most. Especially in a town where I am not familiar with and where everything is literally 30 miles away. I trusted your Toyota facility and our expectations as a family are disappointed and shocked that this happened.

The technician who worked on my truck said that he rotated the tires which he did not. There wasn’t a mark on them because it was real dirty granted they were brand new tires and then seem to make up some story about him, borrowing a key from another technician to take my wheels off, also he stated that they drained the coolant and flushed the system that was never done either because the coolant was not full after I picked it up and looked dirty. Also, I had to repair my running light/turn signal that someone had disconnected. I was charged almost $3000 for a repairs due to the sending unit and fuel pump spark plug replacement, 4 x 4 differential service. now I am questioning if those were even performed, I am super unhappy. I could not get Christina to call me back after leaving two voicemails. She is the service manager there.
