Oil leak was confirmed on Thursday 11/1/2018 but Eric could not commit to a date to bring the car in for service. He said the service department would need the car for a few days because of the current workload and that they did not have a loaner vehicle available at this time. He said the repair is 100% covered under the powertrain warranty. I asked if the car is safe to drive with the leak and he said yes it is safe to drive but if the leak gets worse I may smell burning oil. That was not reassuring. As of Friday, November 2, 2018 I do not know when my Edge will be repaired. It's disappointing that a Ford that has been on the road for 4 1/2 years with 18,500 miles has a "cover oil leak" and the dealer that I bought the car from can't seem to schedule an appointment to do the repairs.
