My comments though relate to the new policy on courtesy vehicles, which iwas a disappointing experience reading though the fine print, and a policy that I think needs to be reviewed. While I understand the need to set reasonable standards for courtesy vehicles, the newly defined contract terms have gone too far and seem somewhat unreasonable. Is this industry standard? I completely topped off the tank prior to returning the vehicle but in driving from Mill Valley to San Rafael, there was a very small amount of gas used. Frankly, unless I topped off on the lot, there was no way I could return the vehicle exactly as full as a vehicle topped off on the lot and not driven. There should be a de minimus amount. It is never worth charging a customer for such a small amount let alone the fact that unless I filled up on the lot, it would have been difficult to return it exactly at the same level, since you have the ability to top off on the lot. I rent cars frequently for business and not even rental car companies would be that exacting or punitive. If I as their customer make a good faith effort to return their rental car with a full tank, I’m always credited for a full tank if it’s above full, despite the slightest of differences. After a $2000 repair, being charged 80 cents for gas is certainly small potatoes, and yet doing so seems leaves quite a bad customer impression. It’s like a bank charging you an ATM fee where you have a large amount of business, it can’t be worth the 80 cents charged to your business, since I will likely Yelp and share my experience as a customer of your business on Yelp, Google and other social media sites. A de minimus difference in gas should be considered, if a car is returned full by a customer, just as rental car companies do. They typically don’t split hairs over 80 cents. Full is full, and It doesn’t hurt to give your customers the benefit of the doubt, in order to be reasonable and leave a positive customer impression.

This isn’t specific to Eliseo, but I set up an appointment online to have brake pads and rotors replaced and a new windshield. I dropped the car off early in the morning, and the techs were unaware of the work I described in the webs app. I was not told the windshield wasn’t available until that afternoon. I asked for the brake work to be done, but was informed while on my way to pick up the car that the work had not been done and would take another day. All of this is due to poor communication and not restricted to Eliseo. The last few services have been this disjointed and poor customer service. It’s not special to be a Mercedes owner like it used to be.
