I was given an appointment last week to appear at Heartland do you have a spare key made for my RAV4 SUV. I was informed that the job will take approximately $160 to complete. It could’ve been very easy for whoever made the appointment to check if there was sufficient stock in order to on August 25 to make the key. Perhaps it is a systemic problem rather than an individual failure, but when I showed up for my appointment after driving from Gig Harbor, the service representative Michael informed me that there were no keys available to make the spare and that I needed to come back another day. Michael apologized and informed me that I could come in the next day without an appointment and he would make sure that the job would be done within an hour. Michael also informed me that rather than $160, the job would cost $260. I was not told the full amount of the cost to simply make another key. Unfortunately, this is not the first time that I have been required to come back to Bremerton because Heartland did not have an adequate supply of parts to do relatively simple job. I certainly hope tomorrow will be much better.I have patronize Heartland since I obtain the vehicle last year due to favorable recommendations from my son-in-law. I will be looking for another service center closer to Gig Harbor after this disappointing experience.
