Every Toyota we have purchased since 2006 has a feature called “lane change”. It allows the turn signal to be bumped to get the turn signal to flash a pre-determined number of times. The factory setting is 3 but it can be increased for more flashes. IT CAN ONLY BE ADJUSTED BY THE DEALER. Today was not the first of my vehicles that I was told that the “lane change” feature was NOT changeable. I tried and failed to convince anyone that it is, and has been, available on all of my 6 Toyotas, including the 2013, that was in today. I should have remembered to take in the appropriate page of the owner’s manual like I have in the past. This is a big deal to me because I LOVE this features and 3 flashes is only enough to annoy other drivers that think you changed your mind if you don’t move over immediately. This may be a niggle but it’s important to me.

I was at the dealership to retrieve my car tags for a 2017 Highlander I purchased from the dealer group's Ford/Mazda store in 12/20. When I bought the car only one key fob was offered. I obtained a second key fob, not through the dealer, and asked the people at the Ford/Mazda store if they could have the key programmed as a courtesy. They passed me around through four people for an hour before someone said, "go see Mark Kluge at the Toyota store." I did...and what an amazing difference in customer service. Mark greeted us with a big, warm smile, took the time to ask how I was enjoying my purchase, took a tour of my vehicle with me to answer any questions, offered my wife and I a complimentary coffee, then promptly had my key programmed by their service department. He personally delivered my keys time with a no charge invoice for the service...precisely what I was asking for. Mark reminded me that upon my next return, I should stop by his desk to say "Hi" to him. This dealership is 40 miles from my home, but because Mark was so gracious and a customer service champion, I will absolutely continue to make the trip to Heartland Toyota for service. Thanks for offering this platform to praise Mark Kluge.
