When we dropped off for service; we were confused by the check-in procedures. We walked into the front vehicle upgrade section and was told to go back to the service writers. When we got back there, we were told we should have checked in up front... change the name of the sections and decide what you want customers doing.
When we arrived to pick up after service, we went to the service writer area and waited, two writers engaged customers that had arrived after us... so I left my wife there and went up front to see if I am supposed to check in the vehicle upgrade area (why is it called that if we go there for cashier); wife did not appreciate sitting there being ignored while I waited up front to see where the hell we are supposed to pick up our car. Yes, it was obvious she was ignored as more than one writer made eye contact more than once and nobody said a word or even bothered to ask if we could be helped.
The young lady up front retrieved our paperwork and keys and we checked out with her. She apologized for the wait and indicated its not the first time women customers have been ignored.
I suggest you placard your areas to indicate where customers are supposed to go for help if your employees are not going to queue people in order and be courteous.
This experience, coupled with two other incidents during test drives my wife had with male salespeople being condescending towards her based on gender, indicate to me that your auto group may need to review your culture and customer service protocol. Looking forward to a better experience when I shop for my truck next year.

I have always had a good relationship with Heartland Toyota, and my answer would be YES!, except that the mechanic went ahead and did an oil change on my vehicle, and then found I had a blown head gasket. I had brought the vehicle in with the check engine light on, suspecting problems with the head gasket, and asked specifically that they diagnose the cause of the check engine light before doing the oil change. I ended up having to pay for an oil change that was not even necessary, as I’m retiring the vehicle. It’s 14 years old, has served me well, but it is not worth the quoted cost of $3800 to repair. I do plan to purchase a new 4Runner from Heartland in the next couple of weeks, but that unnecessary oil change on the old one and the circumstances surrounding it left me disappointed with that day’s experience.
