When I brought my car in 6 months ago after work was done at gray Chevrolet I asked them to COMPLETELY check it over and let me know if anything was wrong with it because gray Chevrolet had just worked on it and I didn’t trust their work. I had just had work done on it courtesy of Gm as they were taking care of gray Chevrolet’s mistake. They had told gray Chevrolet to fix all leaks and anything else that was wrong with it. I had been telling them it was leaking and making other noises for over a year and they kept insisting nothing was wrong - then - after it was out of warranty they suddenly found multiple things wrong and leaks to the tune of thousands of dollars. I had let gm know I was nervous about grays Chevrolet doing the work as they had not done a good job at all maintaining my car up to this point. They said gray Chevrolet had to do it but we agreed that I would take it to haselwood after the work was completed for them to do a through check of the entire vehicle. They said they would reimburse me if there was any charge for it. I took the car into haselwood after the work was completed. I asked them multiple times to do a complete inspection- and I let them know they needed to tell me anything that was leaking or needed to be fixed because gm had agreed to fix all the problems with the vehicle. I told them I would pay whatever the charge as I wanted it checked throughly. I thought it would need to be there all day but it was finished rather quickly. They told me everything was great, no leaks, no other problems. He said there would be no charge. I thought all was well, said I’ll see you at my next oil change. Shortly thereafter my ac stopped blowing cold. It would blow cool, but not frigid cold like it had previously. It was the end of summer so I didn’t worry much, I didn’t need the ac for a number of months so I would get it looked at when I got my next oil change because that would be before it was needed and since my car had just had a complete inspection (or so I thought) I needn’t worry that it was anything major. Fast forward to my next oil change - I don’t drive much as I work close to home so it was needed in March. I made an appointment to have the oil change and ac serviced. You can imagine my surprise when the service writer called and told me my car needed approximately 10k with of work - that it was leaking all over the only actual maintenance items it needed was brakes, and that is around 1k - even with the new rotors. I couldn’t have been more surprised if a bag of money fell from the sky and hit me on the head. I cannot fathom how it can go from being in great shape to needing 10k worth of work in less than 6k miles!! When I explained this to Aaron he immediately went into cya mode and said that was between me and gray Chevrolet. I told him no, haselwood had given me the green light that gray had done the work properly- they should have found these problems then while the case was still open with gm. Obviously these problems are still the SAME problems that have been going on all along and should have been taken care of then. Gave me a wonderful feeling to know I have been driving around in a car with dangerous problems for the last 7 months when I trusted haselwood when they said everything was great!! And to add insult to injury- Aaron actually CHARGED me $120 to tell me this!!!! So my question is now - what is haselwood going to do to correct this? I am going to be less than happy to have to start this entire nightmare of getting it fixed over again because it obviously wasn’t fixed right 7 months ago - and I can only imagine Ed Peper, Mark hogland, Mark franczek and Paul Weist are going to have about the same reaction as I did when I tell them it wasn’t fixed 7 months ago when we were told it was.
