I was not satisfied with my most recent visit. The throughline of my dissatisfaction is a lack at attention to detail.
I brought my car in for a wheel alignment and a follow up to my visit before this when I purchased a detail and there were clearly noticeable watermarks on the rear door, residue on the passenger seat, and some amber colored substance on the exterior of the driver side window.
When I got my XC90 back this morning there were again very clear stains on the rear door and there was a very evident white patch of something on the driver side mirror. Having such noticeable stains when I brought it back precisely for that reason shows a lack of attention to detail.
Additionally, when I received the first text yesterday about reaching out via text if we need anything I replied saying the passenger side vent, closest to the door, has a broken open/close shutter. I also informed you all that the broken shutter was in my glove box. I received a text a little more than 2 hours later saying my car was in good hands. When I picked up my car this morning that was not fixed and the shutter was still in my glove box.
Before I left after dropping my car off I also shared that when the folks at Volvo Bloomington changed my tires they forgot to put on caps to the air hole on each tire. I was told they would take care of it. When I picked up my car that was also not done.
In the grand scheme of things I will readily acknowledge that these are small potato items. And it's for that precise reason I'm disappointed and also wondering if this is an isolated incident or emblematic of a larger problem.
I will also acknowledge that I was fully satisfied with the support and responsiveness that Nicholas showed in my visit prior to this one. For that reason I trust this is an isolated incident. I will also continue to take my business to McGrath. I also hope I can be assured that the attention to detail will be appreciably better the next time I visit.

Was told when we dropped the car off that the parts for the seat belt recall were in stock. An hour and a half later, we were told that the service could not be completed because the parts were not in stock. I drove 2 hours to the dealership and took a day off work to get this done and now I need to make other arrangements to have a safety recall completed. In addition, I needed to have the oil filter replaced, because the last time my. Ar was serviced at McGrath, it was over tightened. Had to pay for a filter and labor for that as well.

The service was fine. The only reason I did not say I was completely satisfied is the length of time this service took. I had a 10am appointment and called to let the Service team know I was running late and would be closer to 10:30, I believe I got there at 10:33. I asked how long the service would take, and was told less than 2 hours. I was also given a loaner and I told my service rep that I would be back before 12:30. When I stopped back at the Service desk at that time, I was shocked to learn that my work had not even started yet. I was told the car would not be ready until 3:30-4pm.
I do not live close to this dealership, I choose to come to Barrington from West Chicago because I have had good experiences in the past. I come to you rather than 2 dealerships that are closer to me because of that prior experience.
I planned my day based on spending 2-3 hours max in/around Barrington and had other obligations closer to home in the afternoon. I had to cancel my entire afternoon because this service basically took all day to complete.
To add to my frustration at the length of time the service took, I was told it was taking this long because walk ins stopped in and were waiting for their vehicles to be serviced, so they had priority over me because I had a loaner car. What is the point of having an appointment if this is your policy?
I’m sorry for the lengthy comments, it’s just that I took the day off work and made plans to get this work done on my car in the early part of the day and had business to take care of with DuPage County in the afternoon. Those appointments now need to be rescheduled because I could not get to the County offices by 4:30pm when they closed.
