Gail was great the whole time. Upon arrival she informed me that my broken belt would be covered under the warranty I paid for. Then she had to call me to inform me that her manager said it was wear and tear and would not be covered. Sounds like a difference of opinion. What good is a warranty if the manager can overrule the service representative that told me it should be covered? I bought 2 cars from you guys in the last 11 months and this was my first repair appointment and my warranty was useless.

McGrath Honda in Elgin replaced the piston rings in my 2015 Honda Odyssey back in April 2022, and I thought that would have solved this problem for good. Unfortunately, the same thing happened again in January 2024 (I took my car in the shop on January 10 as the check engine light was flashing, and it was found cylinder 1 had misfired again. I took it back up to McGrath Honda in Elgin and it was found the piston rings had failed again.) I was advised that there is no assistance available for this exact same repair - so if I want to continue driving my Honda (which I have only driven Honda vehicles for my entire driving history), I will have to pay the same amount I paid (and probably even more) for the same exact repair that was supposed to have been done correctly less than 2 years ago. I am very disappointed in this whole experience and am now going to be looking at going with a different car brand seeing how Honda has handled this whole experience in a completely unsatisfactory way.
