The day before my service appointment I received an email titled "Safe and Easy Service". It stated "You are welcome to wait in our lounge, which is regularly cleaned.". Imagine my surprise when I was told that there is no waiting area at the 9th Ave location. I then spent the next 2 hours wandering in the neighborhood waiting for the car to be ready. I wished that the email I received could give more location specific information.

Check engine light was on. Showed up early before 7:00am. Even though I was 2nd in line I was told the diagnostic results wouldn’t be done until the afternoon. After 2 hours I came back to check on my car at 9:00am and it was still parked outside. I asked why it was still parked and he said “oh your car is done”. I’m glad I came back instead of waiting for a phone call that afternoon. If it was done and done so early why wasn’t I told? I was walking around SF trying not to get COVID-19 waiting for my car! He said the engine light was on because battery terminal was corroded. He asked if I wanted to pay $400 to have the cables replaced? Ridiculous! I drove to SF Honda because it’s usually worth the long drive from San Pablo instead of going to El Cerrito Honda. Now I’m not so sure I’ll be going back to SF Honda. Treat your customers better especially during this pandemic!

It took forever (4.5 hours) and the inside wasn’t vacuumed or cleaned, which has always been done for every other oil change I’ve ever gotten at any place, including Honda. So definitely disappointing, especially based on how much I paid for it and other services.

My service advisor, Rey Gomez, is excellent at his job. He is always professional, explains everything clearly, and goes out of his way to make any visit to the Honda Service Center a good experience. He is why I keep buying Hondas and getting them serviced at a Honda Service Center.

Went in for an oil change and tire rotation, when my car came out of the garage I noticed they had fixed my bumper free of charge. I was so happy because I'd been avoiding it thinking that it would be an expensive fix. Wonderful service and an amazing team!
