I brought my car in for 2 issues which were in my view warranty repairs. One issue was fixed and is fine now. The other issue was for my window sun screen which has been damaged since the spring. My car was serviced in Chicago over the summer as we live there in the summer. At that time the Chicago service advisor looked at it and told me it would be fixed under warranty. However, I was told it would take over a month to get the parts in. I told them I will be back in Florida by then and will get it handled in Florida. Today, I was told that it must have been damaged by my daughter, which I find insulting as my daughter did not damage it. My issue is that the service tech took it apart in Chicago and got it to the point where it goes up and down now. To be told today it would not be covered under warranty because the manager did not approve it is insulting. First off, I was never given the opportunity to speak to the manager or the acting manager as I was told by someone else at the dealer that the service manager is on vacation. I did tell my advisor that it was already looked at in Chicago, so the service tech would not see why it did what it did since they did try to fix it in Chicago. So, I would like to speak to the service manager next week when he is back. Unfortunately, I am not done with my experience today. I think you need to better communicate your loaner plan. I was told prior to my appointment that I would be getting a enterprise rental, which in my opinion is unacceptable but I do really understand given inventory issues all car dealers are having. I feel it should have been explained that I would take an Uber off-site, wait in line at enterprise, get to the front of the line, told I do not have a reservation, call dealership to ask to put in reservation , wait in line again, and 45 minutes later finally get in my rental. I have been driving Audi’s since the late 90’s and have never had an issue with Audi in any way or shape before. I am very disappointed with all that went down today and it all comes down to proper communication.
