Almost 20,000 Avalons Recalled For Safety Issues
Almost 20,000 Avalons Recalled For Safety Issues

Toyota has issued a recall that could affect 19,354 of their 2012 Avalon models, urging those who receive notices to act quickly. Our partners at Parker Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Auto Repair Service in Starkville, MS echo this sentiment, especially in cases where crucial safety systems are involved.
According to Toyota, the nature of the issue stems from a faulty magnetic seat belt switch inside the buckles themselves. The switch detects whether or not he belt has been fastened. A manufacturing defect may cause the switch to report that the belt is fastened when it is not.
The vehicle's airbag systems are directly tied to this reporting information, which means the airbags could fail to deploy in the event of a crash.
The issue affects both buckles on the driver and passenger sides. No reports of injuries have been submitted according to Toyota.
If you receive a recall notice, contact your local Toyota dealership's service center to schedule a replacement.
